From its beginnings as a wool mill, La Redoute is a French brand that has forged unique relationships with its customers for the past 180 years - yesterday through its catalogue, today on the web. We are a mainly digital player, selling fashion as well as home decoration.
Associated with the Galeries Lafayette group and present in Portugal, in Leiria, La Redoute is looking for a **DBA.**
The DataBase Administration (DBA) team is responsible for the management and support of the company's Data asset for La Redoute globally, we manage over 400 databases across several datastore technologies. Our transformation roadmap aggressively accelerates our transformation to a DevOps approach to Data management, including the conversion from a traditional DBA management role to a DevOps DBA. With this transformation, we are expanding our scope and administrating to other Data technologies, like Data streaming and Data transformation.
Your job will be managing the current systems, work on the migration projects, automate processes, improve system performance, and troubleshooting problems. You will have the opportunity to work in a diversified ecosystem with a high focus on pushing the envelope of newer technologies.
We are looking for an experienced, motivated, and proactive team player with technical skills and a cultural mindset to join our organization in this new endeavor.
**Responsibilities**:
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, developers, architects, and managers from different locations and ensure timely deliverables
- Implementation of DevOps practices and principles with focus on Infrastructure as a Code, Automation and Scalability.
- Installation, configuration, and maintenance of real-time data streaming solutions using Kafka and other Data solutions (e.g. Data Transformation/ETL).
- Orchestrate systems with high focus on resilience and high-availability of the systems.
- Evaluate and implement data technologies, tools, and utilities.
- Analysis of resource usage, growth patterns, and capacity planning for infrastructure.
- Ensure the level 2 and if applicable level 3 support for changes, requests and incidents in production environments and provide adequate response with possibility to participate in the on-call 24/7 support.
**Requirements**:
- 2+ years in Kafka administration
- 3+ years in DevOps
- Basic knowledge in SQL language and performance tuning
- Experience with broad landscape of data engines with resilience and high-availability
- Able to work with autonomy, proactivity, leadership, ownership, coordination and continuous improvement.
- Good presentation with excellent communication skills (written, listening and speaking), culture centered attitude, team work and highly motivated.
- English (fluent mandatory) / French (comprehension appreciated)
**Additional assets/preferable skills**:
- PLSQL knowledge and Terraform experience will be highly valued
- PostgreSQL and MongoDB (or other nonrelational databases)
- Kubernetes knowledge and experience
- Demonstrated ability and motivation to learn new processes and technologies
- Autonomy and critical-thinking with high focus on collaborative team environments
