PlatformE is a Portuguese technology company founded in 2015, counting Farfetch's founder and CEO José Neves and Net-A-Porter founder Natalie Massenet among its founders and investors. Headquartered in the heart of Porto, with offices in London, currently counts 40+ employees. Our technology brings a new way for people to perceive, customize and buy across several channels (e-commerce, retail, and embed experiences, among others). **Job Description**:
We are seeking a talented and motivated Engineering Manager to join our Tech team. As an Engineering Manager your focus will be in people development, helping each individual become better in their role and our team become better as a whole. You will work closely with individual contributors, helping them achieve their career goals while ensuring the team consistently meets its objectives. As part of this role you will also be a key piece in strengthening and developing our relationships with Universities from around Porto in order to establish our internships programme and ensure we can bring innovation into our products while contributing to the training of new engineers.

Key Responsibilities

**Mentorship and Career Development**:

- Provide guidance and mentorship to engineers at various career levels.
- Help engineers set clear, achievable career development goals.
- Create personalised development plans and provide resources for skill improvement.

**Team Leadership**:

- Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.
- Set clear expectations for performance and hold team members accountable.
- Encourage continuous learning and knowledge sharing within the team.

**Performance Management**:

- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Address performance issues and assist with improvement plans.
- Recognize and reward exceptional contributions.

**Recruitment and Onboarding**:

- Collaborate with HR and leadership to identify and hire top engineering talent.
- Help organise our internships program, liaise with the team to identify topics and mentors and help roll this out to local Universities.
- Develop effective onboarding programs to help new hires integrate smoothly into the team.

**Communication and Collaboration**:

- Maintain open lines of communication between engineering team members and other departments.
- Foster a collaborative and cross-functional work environment.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a software engineer with a background in software development.
- Prior experience in people management or team leadership.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to provide constructive feedback and mentorship.
- Knowledge of modern software development practices and methodologies.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- A genuine passion for helping others grow and develop in their careers.
