**About the role**

An exciting opportunity to join our high performing team as a driven, ambitious and adaptable group accountant, who takes a hands-on approach to their daily responsibilities of key back-office processes.

The role will suit an individual with great analytical skills who wants to gain valuable experience and exposure in an exciting start up. Reporting to the Senior Group Accountant

**Responsibilities**:

- Play a key role in the year end audit and assisting with any audit queries
- Accounts - prepare month-end journals, assist with accounts payable, prepayments and accruals across a number of entities and the reconciliation of key balance sheet accounts. Working closely with the Senior Group Accountant to produce the group consolidated monthly financial statements
- Advising Group Accounts - Advising the local finance managers on correct accounting postings and investigating differences where required
- Process improvement and optimisation - Ongoing tracking of operational process improvement opportunities and prioritisation through to delivery
- Establish and maintain financial policies and procedures for the company, researching best practices and willing to implement changes where required
- Managing intercompany postings

**Requirements**:

- Prepared to get involved in multiple different finance streams
- Can adapt and embrace change in a fast-growth company
- Part qualified in a professional accountancy qualification (ACA/ACCA preferred)
- Expertise in accounting software such as Xero
- Power Microsoft Excel user
- Knowledge of cost management, business planning, financial modelling and corporate finance topics
- The ability to work with the highest ethical and professional quality standards
- Strong analytical skills: the ability to break high level concepts down to detailed activities ready for implementation
- The ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders including those without a financial background
- Enthusiastic to rip up the rule book and challenge the status quo.
- A proactive hands-on attitude while also being willing-to-learn
- Detail oriented, with a strong focus on quality
- An interest in start-up environments
