Import/Export Coordinator ensures that proper procedures and processes are followed to satisfy all import and export activities for KP’s raw and finished goods movements. This role will function as the liaison between the 3PL/4PL logistics partners, trade compliance/customs agents, KP Supply Chain management, Customer Service, and Sales, as well as oversee/benchmark partner performance and recommend corrective action if required.

**Responsibilities**:
Manage and support Import/Export and customs activities ensuring timely delivery and consolation activities.

Understanding of standard documents necessary to execute import/export transactions (i.e., commercial invoices, packing list, etc.)

Perform transaction audits on exports and imports; resolve discrepancies, request appropriate corrections, reconcile, or protest as appropriate.

Ability to read, understand, and interpret government trade compliance regulations.

Ensure adherence to Union Customs Code (UCC), EU, Country Specific, international, and KP standards/policies for import/export activities.

Coordinate audits of KP’s customs brokers as well as internal processes.

Participate, develop, and conduct training activities for individuals and groups pertaining to import and export regulations.

Ability to effectively communicate with other departments as well as multiple functional areas

Manage business unit projects that increase compliance, improve customer satisfaction, and/or improve operational efficiency, and drive savings.

Report metrics and manage KPI’s associated with import/export activity.

Ability to effectively work with people from other countries and cultures, specifically across Europe and Asia.

Supports sites with tools and processes to optimize import/export activities.

Participate in/lead projects to improve service to customers, operational efficiency, and reduce/control costs.

Identify problems, recommend, and execute creative/innovative solutions.

MIC import/export/customs tool; Contact person for service provider/Lead contact partner for MIC, Interface MIC/SAP, improve tool performance and working on error messages.

**Your Profile**:
Bachelor’s degree in related field (Supply Chain, Operations, or Logistics) or equivalent business experience with five or more years’ experience in the area of Logistics/Transportation/Distribution experience; specifically, in import, export, and freight forwarding.

Highly self-motivated individual focused and driven to provide customer service and continuous improvement.

Must be able to handle multiple priorities and with the ability to work autonomously with a level of ambiguity.

Must possess solid judgment and high level of ethical standards.

Strong understanding of Incoterms.

Technical knowledge of import/ export, customs, warehousing, and logistics

Understanding of ECCN determination, AES, HTS classification, rules of origin, and customs valuation, and Restricted Party Screens (RPS) Demonstrated knowledge of ERP, GTM, and TMS systems and processes.

Demonstrates a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Ability to maintain company service goals and objectives to meet customer orders on time.

Strong communication and follow-up skills working with 3PL freight forwarder, customs, CSR’s, Credit, Customer’s, and Plant Logistics departments to meet shipping deadlines.

Responsible for ensuring 3PL freight forwarder and customs providers meet and operate within international, federal, state, and local regulations.

Understanding of quality management principles

IATA, IMDG, DOT HAZMAT, APICS Certification a plus
