**Join our Team in Castelo Branco, Portugal and create Cable Innovation Technology**
**Your Role**:
As an Environment health and safety Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations, implementing best practices, and fostering a culture of safety excellence within our new cable business unit in Castelo Branco. Your main responsibilities will include the following:
- Develop and implement EH&S programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential risks and implement corrective actions.
- Provide EH&S training to employees at all levels to promote a culture of safety awareness and accountability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives related to environmental sustainability and occupational health and safety.
- Develop EH&S activities within the scope of Certification processes ISO 14001&45001 and related Standards.
- Perform periodic reports on accidents and incidents at the plant while monitoring and analyzing EH&S metrics to track performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Coordinate environmental and OSH analyses and monitoring (noise, gas emissions, wastewater, drinking water, among others).
- Collaborate with external EH&S service providers, including occupational medicine, nursing services, and security services, to ensure comprehensive.
- Stay informed about emerging EH&S regulations and industry best practices, ensuring proactive compliance and risk mitigation.
**Your Background**:
- Engineering degree with H&S Certification or Bachelor's /Master's degree in Environment, health & safety with at least 2 years of experience in a similar role within an industry field
- Proven track record of driving EH&S excellence and implementing successful EH&S programs.
- In-depth knowledge of EH&S regulations, including ISO 14001&45001.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends, analyze data, and develop actionable recommendations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Portuguese are mandatory.
- A Knowledge in cable Manufacturing will be a great asset in this role.
