There is an open call for four (4) Research Scholarships (“Bolsas de Investigação”) at Instituto de Telecomunicações, in the scope of the Project RES - Fernando Guiomar.

**Admission Requirements**:
**Work Objectives**:

- optimization of optical fiber coupling efficiency in FSO systems;
- development of adaptive optical beam steering techniques, resorting computer vision processing;
- modeling and mitigation of nonlinear distortions generated by high-power optical amplifiers;
- development of advanced channel estimation tools to enable the modeling and mitigation of atmospheric turbulence effects.

The work will be developed at the premises of Instituto de Telecomunicações at University of Aveiro, under the supervision of Dr. Fernando Pedro Pereira Guiomar.

**Duration**:
6 months, with the possibility of renewal. Start date: December 2023 or soon thereafter.
