**Job Description**:
Project Accounting - sounds like a mixture of two worlds. And that's exactly what it is. We are the connecting piece between Dentsu/Merkle's classic financial world and the project business. We control on a project level and make sure projects are always on track. We make sure that WIP doesn't stay forever WIP and that Account Directors & Project Managers don't need to worry about the right financial setup of their project & KPIs.

**Essential Functions**:

- Manage all accounting-related functions for assigned projects
- Assist project teams with any questions or needs related to the accounting
- Understand compliance requirements for assigned projects

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Track and report project expenses and revenues including the preparation of invoices and purchase orders
- Monitor project financials and provide regular updates to the project management team
- Preparation of project budgets and forecasts
- Ensure that project expenses are within budget
- Recording project financial transactions and maintaining accurate financial records
- Analyze project variances
- Collaborate with project managers to identify and resolve any financial issues
- Assist in the preparation of project financial reports and presentations
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
- Communicating with project managers and other stakeholders on project financial status
- Revenue recognition and ensuring it follows GAAP standards
- Monitor work in progress and act as required to ensure projects stay on track and on budget
- Managing work-in-progress accounts, ensuring that they are accurate and up to date
- Monitor project invoicing and collection process.
- Provide support to the project manager in project forecasting and cost control
- Provide guidance to junior project accountants
- Perform other financial tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3-5 years of experience in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial analysis
- Experience working with project accounting and financial management
- Excellent organizational and time management
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is desirable but not mandatory
- Familiarity with Jira ticketing system is desirable but not mandatory
- Strong English language skills (written and spoken)

German language skills are desirable but not mandatory
