Accounts Payable Accountant

The position

We are currently looking for an Accounts Payable Accountant to join our Accounts Payable team in our Nordic Cluster. The position will be based in our Maia office in Portugal, with reference to the Head of Cash Management, placed in Denmark.

You will be part of our Nordic Cluster, with English as the main language. You will interact with colleagues across the world and you will have a key role in our daily accounting operation and ongoing process optimization within our Cluster.

Primary responsibilities

You will be responsible for Accounts Payable tasks for Nordic Cluster.

Your daily work includes:
- Responsible for HBK Denmark and HBK Norway- Registering and posting incoming supplier invoices and match invoices to purchase orders via electronic invoice scanning system in SAP and Oracle.- Reconciling vendor statements- Creating and maintaining vendor master data- Processing weekly payments to suppliers - follow up on payments- Checking and booking travel expenses- Conducting reconciliations at month end- Answering queries from internal stakeholders, such as suppliers and customers- Play a part in the Year end process of process documentation, reconciliations and help with supporting in regards to samples etc.- Solving various ad hoc tasks

We are currently working in two ERP systems, Oracle and SAP.

Professional qualifications

You have experience from an international company, where you have gained solid experience, and you are used to working with a large number of transactions.

It is important that you have a basic financial understanding and have strong solid experience from an Accounts Payable function.

You are passionate about participating in optimizing processes and procedures and motivated by achieving the goals as a team.

Experience in working with Oracle is a requirement. SAP experience is an advantage, but not a requirement.

Experienced user MS Office including Excel

Personal skills- High degree of responsibility- As a colleague, you have good collaboration skills, are a prominent team player and provide a good service both internally and externally.- Strong understanding of numbers and high attention to details- Ability to structure a varying working day- Ability to work under pressure and with tight deadlines- Natural ability to communicate with a range of stakeholders with ease- A pro-active and ambitous approach to your work and career- You are flexible and thrive in a changeable environment- Take ownership of your responsibilities- Strong in Accounts Payable- Ensuring the correct use of rules of bookkeeping principles, VAT, local rules etc.- Being a good sparring partner to coworkers- Knowledge or experience in working with Nordic culture/companies would be an advantage, but not a requirement. Some translation might be necessary to be able to fulfil duties and tasks within responsibility level.
