The Blade Technical Management team is accountable for ensuring blade design quality and strategy. The team is made up of enthusiastic employees located in Lem in Denmark, Isle of Wight in the UK and Porto in Portugal, and Chennai in India.

**Responsibilities**
- Accountable for the development, performance, and appropriate integration of blade protection systems/performance steps/components into blade products
- Delivering to blade projects a pipeline of mature technology components
- Developing blade projects within the Vestas/Modular Way to Market including effective delivery of Lightning Protection, Cold Climate Protection (Anti/De-ice), and Blade Health Monitoring solutions
- Continuously Improve performance and maturity of blade protection systems in line with current and future needs using engineer best practices and tools incl FMEA, IDOV 6sigma, and readiness level (TRL, MRL, SRL)
- Understanding and defining key performance metrics and maintaining a roadmap for blade protection systems development
- Working alongside cross-functional stakeholders to understand and define design drivers for the full value chain: Performance, specification, cost, mass, process cycle time, and capability
- Challenging functional areas across Blades to ensure the right balance between the above design drivers is achieved
- Ensure Quality. Be accountable for design quality and effective implementation of blade protection systems in blade products by ensuring a systematic design process. Lead and sign-off Design Peer Reviews and Component Functional Review to ensure product and component quality and delivery is realized
- Facilitate creation and maintenance of product and component design guidelines
- Promote continuous product and OPEX cost-out campaigns

**Qualifications**
- You should hold a bachelor's or master’s degree in engineering or equivalent, coupled with practical knowledge of electrical/mechanical design and manufacturing in the wind industry
- Minimum 10 years of experience in composite blade development
- Knowledge of systems engineering and lightning simulation advantageous

**Competencies**
- Demonstrated technical leader able to support a range of stakeholders and achieve the best outcome
- Experience bringing developments and projects to a successful conclusion
- Experience in Design for Six Sigma and CATIA is advantageous
- Good communication skills in English, orally and written
- Proven team oriented with dedication for quality
- Ability to guide and mentor engineers
