Verisure is looking for an **Indirect Tax Junior Analyst **to join its growing Group Tax team. This newly created position will be based in our **Finance Centre of Excellence and Shared Services Centre** in the Lisbon metropolitan area. The successful applicant will report to the Group Indirect Tax Senior Manager (based in Paris) and interact on a daily basis with colleagues in Portugal and throughout Europe.

In this role, your main responsibility will be to ensure Verisure’s European legal entities comply with their Indirect Tax (e.g., VAT, Intrastat) reporting obligations towards the authorities.

As major General Accounting, Accounts Payable and Treasury activities have already been shifted to the Lisbon shared services centre, a logical next step is to move the ownership of Indirect Tax filings to a single point of contact.

As the business is gradually shifting its ERP to Oracle Fusion Cloud, this role is an opportunity to be associated to Finance technology rollouts from end to end, and to truly leverage the power of automation in the area of taxes.

Responsibilities will include, among others:

- Timely and correct preparation of VAT returns and other related declarations for legal entities with VAT registrations in various European countries, including:

- review of the purchase and sales ledgers;
- analysis of sample source documents from a VAT perspective;
- investigation into business operations from an Indirect Tax standpoint;
- reconciliation of general ledger with VAT filings;
- Support to in-country Finance team during tax inspections and routine queries from tax authorities;
- Setup and operation of VAT compliance technology;
- Financial data processing;
- Document archiving;
- Research into tax process improvement and automation;
- Active cooperation and communication with internal clients;
- Participation in various tax projects.

Experience and Qualifications

As a result, we are looking for a **self-starter **and **high potential** **/ top performer** individual who will combine **Indirect Tax knowledge**, **business acumen** and **tech-savviness** with a proactive mindset focused on driving value to the business.
- Ideally 1 to 2 years of previous experience with European Indirect Tax compliance. Applications from recent/upcoming graduates in Finance and/or Tax will be considered as well.
- Experience with Microsoft Navision and/or Oracle Cloud Fusion an advantage.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Excel.
- Fluency in English, other European languages are a plus.
