We are looking for a** Senior Data Science Engineer** who will cooperate with software engineers and data scientists as a key player in designing solutions.

**About the Customer**:
The company is one of the world’s leading business news organizations, recognized internationally for its authority, integrity, and accuracy. The customer has a record-paying readership of one million, three-quarters of which are digital subscriptions.

**About the Project**:
The Project is a new product designed to empower publishers with the insights they need to understand and engage their online audiences more effectively. By leveraging analytics data, news article content, and advanced machine learning algorithms, Diversify delivers comprehensive audience interaction reports, helping publishers to widen their reach and diversify their audience base.

**Responsibilities**:

- Develop and deploy new FT-article annotations and text classification models, as well as improvements to existing models and processes
- Create product-led solutions to demonstrating the value of FT content, such as through Clusters, Trends, Extracts, Relationships, Sentiment and Quotes & Opinions
- Creation and maintenance of insights, visualizations and dashboards to assess NLP model quality and summarize outputs and findings to non-technical audiences
- Advising product managers on experimental design and performance metrics
- Explaining techniques, results and ideas to colleagues, many of whom have not worked with data or NLP concepts before
- Forming close relationships with a range of stakeholders, including B2B product managers and user researchers

**Requirements**:

- Experience working with large, unstructured text corpus’ to solve complex problems
- Proficiency with Python (or R) for data analysis and machine learning
- Skills working with ontologies and taxonomies to generate classification models as well as identify new opportunities for classifiers on original content
- Examples of building, deploying and testing machine learning models on production systems
- Passion for making the complicated easy to understand, through written, verbal and visual form
- Extertise in building proof of concepts and showcasing these within an appropriate environment, i.e. Jupyter

**Nice to Have**:

- Previous work in a newsroom or media company
- Experience developing models built with toolkits such as SpaCy, BERT, Hugging Face and deploying within an AWS environment
- ML pipeline, CI/CD and testing experience
- Knowledge of Docker and dependency management tools

**English level**: Intermediate+
