**DATA**

We're a Data team that does it all: big data engineering, machine learning, and deep-dive analytics and insight. We're a diverse, global team that creates Data solutions to provide an unrivaled customer experience. Whether it's churning gigabytes of e-commerce data, using AI to recommend the latest trends, or understanding our customers better than anyone else, we use data to promote FARFETCH's growth.

**THE ROLE**

To help optimize the search quality and propose the next data-driven improvements which are essential to the quality of search and user satisfaction. We need a strong hands-on data scientist with an inquisitive nature and drive to make impactful changes.

WHAT YOU´LL DO- 2+ years of Data Science/ML experience;-
- Fluent in Python, common numerical and Math & ML packages (NumPy, SciPy, sci-kit-learn, pandas, TensorFlow, PyTorch), and experience with databases (SQL). You value good software engineering practices and take pride in the quality of your code;-
- Interest and past experience in search engines (both in natural language retrieval and ranking), recommender systems or personalization;-
- Ideally, experience with large-scale distributed systems such as Hadoop, Spark etc.-
- Exposure to cloud environments such as Azure, GCP or AWS-
- Knowledge of experimental design and analysis, such as A/B testing;-
- Interested in keeping up-to-date with scientific advancements.WHO YOU ARE
- Develop and implement state-of-the-art algorithms in Natural Language Processing (NLP), Information Retrieval (IR) with a focus on search relevance.
- Conduct practical research with a scientific mindset, and a focus on delivery;
- Work with the engineering team to integrate machine learning (ML) algorithms into the platform;
- Engage with partners, product managers, and designers to help bring a shared vision of the search ecosystem;
- Explore and analyze big datasets to understand users interactions with search and propose experiments (AB tests) to improve user engagement;
- Scientific and technical publications are possible and encouraged.
