**About the Team**
- Markets 360 is made up of around 100 economists, strategists and analysts across the Americas, Western Europe, CEEMEA and Asia Pacific, who work closely together to create cross-asset perspectives
- With a focus on value-added research and thought leadership, the aim is to publish clear, timely and thought-provoking pieces on topics ranging from financial and economic forecasts to in-depth analysis of particular assets, economies and themes
- The** **Equity & Derivative Strategy team is responsible for analysis, views and trade ideas for major equity markets across the globe
- The Macro Quant & Derivatives Strategy team is part of Markets 360 and is responsible for quantitative and evidence-based research on macroeconomics, major asset classes and derivatives

**Role Overview**
- The aim of a Lead Equity Quant Strategist is to develop a quantitative framework for global equity and derivative markets, working with and leveraging the Equity & Derivative Strategy and Macro Quant & Derivative Strategy teams. The framework is aimed at understanding the drivers of equity markets, creating thematic research and generative trade ideas. The role involves working with sales, trading and structuring and is a client facing role, requiring communication and marketing of the outcomes and signals of the models

**Role Responsibilities**
- Lead the development of a quant equity framework, leveraging expertise within Equity Strategy and Macro Quant Strategy, working closely with the respective team heads in major financial centres (London, New York, Hong Kong) to formulate the plan for a framework. The framework is to be implemented in co-ordination and with support of the equity strategists and macro quant analysts
- Develop market leading quant indicators for global equity indices, sectors and factors. This entails
- Reviewing academic research to identify new modelling approaches
- Running data analytics
- Exploring use of new data science techniques
- Testing new date sets (i.e. alternative data)
- Use the equity quant framework to analyse investment themes and generate trade ideas for BNPP’s clients, sales teams and traders. Research content to be communicated via written publications, podcasts, client meetings and internal publications
- Work with quant analysts and equity analysts to implement digitalization, automation and distribution of contents

**Profile and Skills to Success**
- Experience in equity markets of at least 3 years. Experience from sell-side, buy-side, middle office and back office considered
- Experience in project leaderships and demonstrated ability to drive a project from idea conception to product implementation and launch
- Strong interest in data analysis and solid analytical skills
- Ability to demonstrate elementary knowledge of financial markets relationships / drivers and statistics, including econometrics
- Proficiency in Python (other coding languages can also be considered)
- High attention to detail / rigor
- Autonomy, proactiveness, reliability and results driven
- Critical thinking, creative approach to problem solving
- Strong communication skills (both spoken and written) and fluency in English
