Business Continuity Senior
Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for ensuring that an organization can continue operating through disruptions and recover quickly in the event of crises, such as natural disasters, cyberattacks, or other business interruptions. This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining continuity and disaster recovery plans to minimize downtime and safeguard critical operations.
2. Develop and implement business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
3. Identify potential risks and vulnerabilities that could impact business operations.
4. Conduct risk assessments and business impact analysis (BIA) to prioritize critical processes.
5. Lead and coordinate crisis response efforts, including testing recovery plans and conducting tabletop exercises.
6. Work closely with IT Teams to integrate IT disaster recovery plans with business continuity strategies.
7. Update business continuity plans to adapt to changing business needs.
8. Train staff on business continuity protocols and response procedures.
Skills:
1. Risk Assessment & Business Impact Analysis (BIA): Hands-on experience in identifying and assessing business risks, followed by the implementation of strategies to mitigate those risks.
2. Plan Development & Implementation: Proven experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining business continuity and disaster recovery plans for an organization of significant size.
3. Crisis Management & Response: Experience managing business continuity operations during actual events or simulations, including executing recovery procedures and ensuring minimal disruption.
4. Cross-Department Collaboration: Experience in collaborating with IT, HR, operations, and senior management to align business continuity plans with organizational goals.
5. Testing & Exercising Continuity Plans: Practical experience in organizing and leading tabletop exercises and simulated crisis scenarios to evaluate plan effectiveness and staff readiness.
Certifications:
1. Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) – Offered by DRI International, this is one of the most widely recognized certifications in the field of business continuity.
2. ISO 22301 Lead Implementer/Lead Auditor – This certification focuses on implementing and auditing Business Continuity Management Systems (BCMS) based on ISO standards.
3. Certified Disaster Recovery Engineer (CDRE) – A valuable certification focusing on disaster recovery and data center management, ensuring continuity in the event of IT-related disruptions.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree.
2. 2+ years of hands-on experience in business continuity or disaster recovery planning.
3. Proficient in business continuity software and tools.
4. Knowledge of regulatory and compliance standards (e.g., ISO 22301, NIST, GDPR).
5. Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
6. Ability to lead and coordinate recovery efforts under pressure, maintaining focus on critical operations.
This is a Short Term Project, so a Contractor would be ideal.
