Senior Risk Manager
Responsibilities
1. Responsible for identifying, assessing, and managing risks that could potentially harm an organization's financial stability, reputation, or operations. This role involves developing strategies to mitigate, monitor, and respond to various risks, ensuring that business objectives are met while minimizing potential adverse impacts.
2. Conduct and assess risks across the organization, including technological and operational, regulatory, and reputational risks.
3. Develop, implement, and maintain risk management policies and procedures.
4. Conduct risk assessments and risk analyses to identify vulnerabilities and propose mitigation strategies.
5. Collaboration with other departments to integrate risk management practices into business processes.
6. Monitor and report on risk exposure, trends, and mitigation efforts to senior management.
7. Develop and manage risk registers and maintain records of all identified risks and corresponding mitigation actions.
8. Provide training and support to staff to raise awareness of risk management practices.
Skills
1. Risk Assessment & Analysis: Hands-on experience in conducting risk assessments across various domains (e.g., technological and operational) to identify, measure, and prioritize risks.
2. Risk Mitigation Strategies: Proven experience in designing and implementing effective risk mitigation strategies, including risk avoidance, reduction, transfer, and acceptance.
3. Regulatory Compliance & Standards: Knowledge of industry regulations (such as ISO 31000, GDPR and ISO 27001) and the ability to ensure compliance while managing risks.
4. Risk Reporting & Communication: Practical experience in preparing detailed risk reports and presenting risk findings and recommendations to senior leadership and stakeholders.
5. Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Experience in collaborating with diverse teams (finance, legal, operations, IT) to align risk management strategies with overall business objectives.
6. Certified Risk Management Professional (CRMP) – Offered by the Risk Management Society (RIMS), this certification demonstrates expertise in identifying, analyzing, and managing risks across an organization.
7. ISO 31000 Risk Management Certification – This certification is ideal for professionals focusing on implementing risk management standards in organizations.
8. Bachelor's degree.
9. 2+ years of experience in risk management, compliance, or a related field.
10. Strong understanding of risk management frameworks, methodologies, and tools.
11. Ability to conduct risk assessments, identify vulnerabilities, and design risk mitigation strategies.
12. Familiarity with relevant regulations and industry standards (e.g., ISO 31000, COSO).
13. Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify key risk indicators and trends.
14. Excellent communication and presentation skills to clearly report risk findings to management.
This is a Short Term Project, so a contractor would be ideal.
