WHAT IS COMMERCE?
At Mercedes-Benz.io, our E-Commerce team focuses specifically on the purchasing phase of the customer journey and is dedicated to providing a seamless and luxurious digital sales experience for our customers around the world.
As an integral part of Mercedes-Benz's digital transformation, we lay the foundation for reshaping sales strategies and business processes. Our cloud-based SAP Commerce platform serves as the technological core of our online sales solutions, which we design, operate, and maintain.
With a focus on innovation and customer satisfaction, our program helps Mercedes-Benz stay ahead of the automotive industry, providing customers with the best possible digital buying experience. By working closely with our customers, we ensure that we understand their needs and continuously improve our solutions. IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL
1. Improve monitoring and help elevate the quality, performance, and resilience of our products.
2. Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of services from inception and design, through deployment, operation, refinement, and end of life (sundown).
3. Support services before they go live through activities such as system design advising, developing software platforms and frameworks, capacity planning, and launch reviews.
4. Maintain services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health.
5. Develop/maintain automation applications, scripts, and CI/CD workflows for automating operational tasks to reduce manual intervention, minimize errors, and improve efficiency.
6. Create and maintain documentation related to disaster recovery scenarios.
7. Be part of the incident management and post-mortem process.
8. Collaborate with development teams and lead and mentor other engineers.
TO SUCCEED YOU NEED
1. The ability to debug, optimize, and propose changes to application code, including improving scalability, resilience, and monitoring.
2. In-depth knowledge of monitoring concepts and methodologies for distributed systems.
3. To automate routine tasks using higher-level programming languages (e.g., Python/Go/Typescript) and shell scripts.
4. A systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with effective communication and collaboration skills and a sense of drive.
5. An understanding of Unix/Linux operating systems.
6. Working knowledge of AWS and Kubernetes.
7. Familiarity with distributed systems, container technologies, microservice architectures, and the cloud-native technology stack.
8. A degree in Computer Science, a related technical field involving software/systems engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
