About the Role

A senior-level opportunity is available for professionals with deep expertise in Audio & Video Processing to contribute to high-impact projects supporting UK-based operations through a nearshore model, while also expanding technical teams in Portugal.

This role is central to delivering advanced broadcast and satellite communication solutions, driving the development and implementation of reliable, high-performance media technologies. It combines engineering leadership with a hands-on approach to system integration, deployment, and continuous service improvement.

Key Responsibilities

- Set up, test, troubleshoot, and optimize audio and video processing systems to ensure peak performance and availability

- Offer subject matter expertise for the design and implementation of infrastructure supporting media processing services

- Develop and manage processes that streamline the deployment of new audio/video service platforms

- Engineer end-to-end broadcast and satellite communication solutions in compliance with regulatory and industry standards

- Oversee third-party vendor performance to ensure technical delivery aligns with defined requirements and quality benchmarks

- Promote standardization of equipment and systems to enhance integration efficiency and reduce operational disruptions

- Produce comprehensive documentation covering system builds and contribute to procedural enhancements

- Resolve technical challenges using standardized methods and systematic approaches

- Act as the Design Authority within the audio and video processing domain; lead design initiatives for smaller-scale projects

- Support commercial objectives through effective cost control, asset management, and return-on-investment optimization

- Assist in accurate forecasting and capacity planning across broadcast operations

- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineering, product, and field operations, to support service rollouts and system refinements

- Stay informed on evolving technologies and industry advancements in audio and video processing

- Champion technical innovation and continuous improvement within engineering practices

- Provide leadership by mentoring junior team members and sharing technical expertise

- Serve as a key escalation point for complex technical issues

- Contribute to integration efforts involving legacy systems and cloud-based environments

Required Knowledge & Experience

- Proven background in audio and video processing systems and technologies

- Familiarity with cloud platforms and services related to media workflows

- Experience using project planning and execution tools

Core Skills

- Deep understanding of audio and video processing methodologies

- Hands-on experience with encoding and multiplexing technologies

- Competence in using diagnostic tools for technical troubleshooting

- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to resolve complex engineering challenges

- Effective communicator, capable of engaging across functions and conveying technical concepts clearly

- Able to manage and prioritize multiple project tasks within defined timelines
