Offer Description
Applications are open for 1 Research Studentship(s), within the framework of project SustainAsphalt (1018P.06706.1.01), financed by national funds through COMPETE2030-FEDER-0119130, financed by the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER).
Workplan: To develop a bituminous mixture incorporating bituminous concrete material recovered from existing pavements and lignin in order to contribute to technological validation in the laboratory and in full-scale prototypes, through the assessment of performance with the most appropriate cutting-edge technology, and so that it can be a solution for practical application within the road and airport paving industry. This purpose is an essential part of the objectives of the SustainAsphalt program.
Duration: The research fellowship will have the duration of 12 months. It's expected to begin in May 2025, and may be eventually renewed until the end of the project, with the limit of 48 months, including the duration of the initial contract.
It is mandatory to formalize applications with the submission of the following documents:
1. B1 Form – Fellowship application (link);
2. Curriculum Vitae;
3. academic degree certificate, where applicable;
4. proof of enrollment at an academic degree course (PhD);
5. motivation letter.
Admission Requirements: To be enrolled at a PhD.
Selection process
Selection methods: The selection methods will be the following: curriculum evaluation (75%) and individual interview, which aims to clarify some aspects of the curriculum and motivation to fill the position (25%).
Announcement/notification of the results: The final evaluation results will be communicated to all applicants by email.
Deadlines and procedures of complaint and appeal: A complaint may be lodged from the final decision within 15 working days, or an appeal to the Executive Board of IST within 30 working days, both counted from the respective notification.
Workplace: The work will be developed at DECIVIL / Instituto Superior Técnico, under the scientific supervision of Professor Luís Picado Santos.
