Infrastructure Architect / Engineer – FX Trading
We are looking for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to support and enhance a global FX trading platform operating in a highly distributed, mission‑critical environment.
Reporting to the Head of Infrastructure, this contract role will play a key part in ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of FX trading infrastructure while working closely with development teams and the wider Client Group.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee client FX trading infrastructure globally, ensuring high availability and performance
- Act as the infrastructure subject matter expert for software development teams
- Collaborate with the Group infrastructure function to support FX business requirements and ensure compliance with Group standards and policies
- Automate repetitive infrastructure tasks to improve consistency across a heavily distributed environment
- Research emerging technologies and contribute to the infrastructure technology roadmap
- Support and maintain mission‑critical production systems
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong hands‑on experience with Linux system administration (e.g. RHEL, SLES)
- Experience with OS performance tuning, ideally in low‑latency environments
- Knowledge of virtualization and container technologies
- Experience working with server hardware, data centre build‑outs, and OS migrations
- Proficiency in scripting (Python, Shell, or similar)
- Proven experience supporting business‑critical infrastructure in production
Nice to Have
- Experience with configuration management / provisioning tools (Ansible, Puppet)
- Exposure to Windows and NAS administration
- Background in trading systems or financial services environments

- A strong desire to learn and adopt new technologies
