Market Risk Analyst

The RISK Market & Financial Institutions (RISK MFI) platform supports the monitoring of market, counterparty, valuation and liquidity risks derived from the Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) and credit risks within financial institutions to help senior management in decision‑making. The Market Risk Analyst will play a key role in monitoring and enhancing the market risk framework.

Responsibilities

- Produce and distribute daily market risk reports for all business lines, including Basel 2.5 metrics such as Value‑At‑Risk, Stressed Value‑At‑Risk and Incremental Risk Charge.

- Monitor market risk limits and notify / escalation procedures for excesses.

- Provide metric variation analysis on a regular or ad‑hoc basis to inform related business processes.

- Ensure consistent implementation of the Market Risk Framework across business lines, adapting to regulatory changes such as FRTB, Targeted Review of Internal Models, French Banking Law & Volker Rule.

- Industrialise processes such as Market Risk Limits calibration while maintaining compliance.

Essential Qualifications

- Master’s degree in Engineering, Financial Engineering, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Econometrics, Computer Science or related discipline.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

- Strong analytical skills and ability to synthesise large data sets.

- Excellent organisation, teamwork and communication skills.

Preferred

- Experience with Python programming.

- Knowledge of market risk management techniques.

- Results‑oriented mindset and proactive attitude.

- Inquisitive and test‑and‑learn approach.
