We're Hiring: Senior AI Engineer

Lisbon (Hybrid | 1x per week onsite)

Are you passionate about Artificial Intelligence, NLP, and building production-grade AI solutions at scale? We're looking for a Senior AI Engineer to join a highly skilled, international team working on innovative, data-driven products that improve search, content creation, and customer experience.

You'll collaborate with expert engineers and data specialists, experiment with state-of-the-art AI techniques, and help bring AI-powered solutions from concept to production.

What you'll be doing

- Design, prototype, and experiment with AI/ML solutions using multiple approaches
- Identify relevant datasets and support annotation strategies
- Develop, maintain, and deploy machine learning applications and products
- Train, retrain, and evaluate models, performing statistical analysis of results
- Apply NLP, supervised & unsupervised learning, and traditional statistical methods
- Stay up to date with AI research, emerging technologies, and industry best practices
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to diverse stakeholders

What we're looking for

- Strong expertise in Scala (mandatory)
- Experience with Scala Play Framework
- Advanced experience with Elasticsearch
- Solid knowledge of PostgreSQL or other relational databases
- Experience with microservices architectures and content-driven applications
- Strong understanding of AI techniques: NLP, classification, clustering, optimization, deep learning
- Knowledge of data structures, semantic extraction, and text representation
- Python (OOP) proficiency is a plus
- Experience with Docker and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
- Experience building RESTful and asynchronous APIs
- Familiarity with LLMs is a plus
- Ability to write clean, scalable, production-ready code

Education & Experience

- Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, AI, Mathematics, or related field
- 3+ years of experience as an Engineer
