Position Overview

The Technical Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing technical projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This role will coordinate efforts between cross-functional teams - including engineering, product, and operations - to ensure the successful delivery of technical solutions that align with strategic business objectives. In addition to strong project management skills, the ideal candidate will have hands-on development experience, particularly in SQL and C#, and a track record of creating effective proof-of-concepts to validate technical strategies and innovations.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Strategy

- Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
- Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocations that reflect realistic timelines and risk assessments.
- Create contingency plans to address potential issues and ensure uninterrupted project progress.

Execution & Delivery

- Lead cross-functional project teams, ensuring clear communication and effective collaboration across technical and non-technical departments.
- Monitor project progress, adjusting schedules and resources as needed to meet evolving priorities and project milestones.
- Utilize project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall) to guide project execution and facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospective meetings.

Development & Proof-of-Concepts:

- Leverage hands-on development experience to create and review SQL scripts and C# proof-of-concepts.
- Validate technical feasibility and integration approaches by developing prototype solutions that demonstrate core functionalities and performance benchmarks.

Stakeholder Management

- Act as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders, providing regular status updates, risk assessments, and project reports.
- Liaise with external vendors and partners to align technical integration and ensure all deliverables meet agreed-upon quality standards.
- Present technical concepts and project updates to non-technical audiences, simplifying complex ideas to ensure stakeholder understanding.

Quality Assurance & Risk Management

- Oversee testing, quality assurance, and compliance processes to guarantee the integrity of technical deliverables.
- Identify project risks early and develop proactive mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project outcomes.
- Ensure that all projects adhere to regulatory, security, and quality standards.

Budget & Resource Management

- Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness while meeting project goals.
- Track expenditures and adjust project scope as necessary to maintain budgetary constraints.
- Mentor team members and allocate resources efficiently to maximize productivity and professional growth.

Continuous Improvement

- Evaluate project outcomes and performance metrics to identify areas for process improvements.
- Implement best practices in project management and technical delivery to enhance overall team efficiency and product quality.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and methodologies to keep the organization at the forefront of innovation.

Required Qualifications

Educational Background

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

Professional Experience

- 5+ years of experience in technical project management or a similar role, with a proven record of successful project delivery.
- Experience managing cross-functional teams and complex technical projects in a fast-paced environment.

Hands-on Development Experience:

- Demonstrated proficiency in SQL and C# development.
- Experience developing and presenting proof-of-concepts to validate technical approaches and support decision-making.

Key Competencies & Skills

Technical Proficiency

- Strong understanding of software development lifecycles, systems architecture, and IT infrastructure.
- Ability to quickly grasp technical concepts and translate them into actionable project plans.

Development Expertise:

- Solid experience with SQL for database design, query optimization, and data management.
- Proficiency in C# for application development, including building and testing proof-of-concept models to assess feasibility and performance.

Project Management Skills

- Proficiency in project management tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, or Microsoft Project.
- Expertise in project planning, risk management, and budget management.

Communication & Leadership

- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams and resolve conflicts effectively.

Problem-Solving & Analytical Thinking

- Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Proven ability to adapt to changing priorities and maintain focus on long-term objectives.

Organizational Skills

- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and process improvement.

Working Conditions

Environment

- Typically based in an office environment with potential for remote work or hybrid arrangements.
- Occasional travel may be required to meet with clients, or team members at different locations.
