Product Engineer/Forward Deployed Engineer (Agentic AI) | €110K–€160K + Equity | Fully Remote Lisbon-based candidates only Fully remote. No mandatory office days. This role is with an AI startup that is in the top 1% globally for early-stage fundraising speed, having raised nearly $50M within its first year, more than double the estimated European average at this stage. If you're a software engineer in Lisbon who's already building AI agents, agentic products or advanced AI coding workflows, this is perfect for you. You'd join an AI-native SaaS scale-up building AI agents that automate complex business processes across all business software and systems. So, why join?
- Fully remote. No mandatory office days, with a growing community of engineers in Lisbon who enjoy building things together.
- Proper agentic engineering. Claude Code, Codex, autonomous coding agents, spec-driven development, parallel agents and AI-generated tests and reviews.
- Build AI with AI. Work on production AI agents while using agentic workflows to build and ship software.
- Forward-deployed-style engineering. Work directly with enterprise customers, understand their problems and build solutions they actually use.
- Real ownership. Take products from an initial customer problem through to production, across the frontend, backend and infrastructure.
- Move fast. Small teams, minimal bureaucracy and the freedom to make technical decisions and ship software quickly. Who are they looking for? You'll have:
- Strong full-stack engineering experience, building and shipping production applications across frontend and backend.
- AI-native development experience, using Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or similar tools beyond basic code generation.
- Agentic workflows, ideally including spec-driven development, multiple coding agents, automated testing or AI-assisted reviews.
- AI product experience, ideally building LLM-powered features, AI agents or applications that use AI to complete real tasks.
- End-to-end product ownership, taking ambiguous problems from initial idea through to production.
- Customer exposure, working directly with customers and understanding user problems, gathering feedback and making product decisions based on what customers need.
- Product judgment, knowing what to build, what not to build and how to measure the commercial impact.
- Strong product and UX thinking, building software that is genuinely easy for people to use. Startup or scale-up experience would be a big advantage. The tech stack: TypeScript, React, Next.js, Node.js, PostgreSQL and GCP. You don't need to have worked with this exact stack. Experience building full-stack products is more important, alongside the willingness to pick up new technologies quickly.
