The Cash Investigations Senior Officer is responsible for handling, managing, and following up on claims and queries regarding cash flows across several locations. The role deals with internal clients, counterparts, and cash correspondents, and is also responsible for collaborating with several departments involved in Cash Management activities.

Your Main Activities Are

1. Provide solutions and operational/market assistance, as well as accurate and useful operational insight to internal clients and teams.
2. Perform Banking reconciliation.
3. Ensure that the investigation of any claim related to cash flows, either from clients or from counterparts, is solved within the desirable time frame, while assuring quality support during the process.
4. Follow the activity closely, i.e., monitoring volume evolution, workloads, recurring issues, and present solutions as well as ideas for improvement.
5. Support management in all operational activity and also in transversal projects when required.
6. Actively participate in all projects developed within the Department and BNP Paribas Portugal.
7. Monitor, report, and mitigate the operational risk for all cases that the team is involved in.
8. Autonomously and consistently deliver high-quality analysis, exhibiting problem-solving capacity in the most complex cases. Provide suggestions to improve processes and procedures.
9. Answer proactively and when delegated to first-level escalations with technical accuracy.
10. Train and actively foster newcomer development by providing technical guidance.

Profile and Skills to Success

1. Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, or Accounting.
2. At least 3 years of experience in Banking and Financial Operations.
3. Knowledge of Risk Management - Risk knowledge & awareness.
4. Knowledge of Operations and Processes - Transaction processing and data capture.
5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Pack (MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint).
6. Fluent in English.
7. Attention to detail/rigor.
8. Organizational skills.
9. Client focused.
10. Analytical ability.
