Localisation Operations Manager

We are looking for a Localisation Operations Manager to join an international digital product project with strong multi-market ambitions.
This role sits at the intersection of Content, Design, Product, Engineering and local markets, ensuring that product content scales correctly across languages and regions - technically, functionally and culturally.
This is not a translation role.
It is a content-led operations role, focused on process, tooling and stakeholder orchestration.
Responsibilities
- Join and operate as part of the Content team, owning localisation processes end to end.
- Own and manage the product localisation ecosystem (tools, workflows and stakeholders).
- Set up and maintain the TMS (e.g. Phrase), ensuring robust and scalable translation keys for front-end implementation.
- Partner closely with Content, Design and Product to enable Content-First Design.
- Coordinate the Figma → content → code → release workflow, avoiding waterfall localisation.
- Ensure translators and native reviewers receive the right content context (UX, tone, intent).
- Coordinate internal stakeholders (Product, Engineering, Marketing) and native experts in local markets.
- Act as a quality gate before international releases (UX, layout, consistency, tone and context).
- Ensure simultaneous launches across multiple languages and markets.
Requirements
- Experience in Localisation Operations, Localisation Program Management, Content Operations or Product Operations.
- Strong background in content for digital products (UX content, product content, content systems or similar).
- Hands-on experience with localisation tools (e.g. Phrase, Smartling, Lokalise or similar).
- Strong understanding of digital products, UX and development workflows.
- Experience working closely with Content, Design (Figma) and Engineering teams.
- English C1 level or higher
- Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and timelines in complex environments.
- Strong process-oriented mindset, focused on scalability and continuous improvement.
- Based in Portugal (mandatory)
