WHAT ARE YOUR TASKS?
- Partner integrations: Own each integration of partner technology from the first version to a commercial feature in production. Help decide where partnering beats building.
- Team leadership: Lead an engineering team distributed across locations. Hire top talent and keep the team healthy. Give timely, actionable feedback and support individual growth plans.
- Product partnership: Work with Product Management to balance new features against reliability, security, maintainability and cost.
- Delivery: Turn priorities into realistic delivery plans with capacity, dependencies and risks made explicit. Communicate early, report bad news promptly and renegotiate when delivery is at risk.
- Ownership and operations: The team runs what it builds, with clear service ownership, monitoring and tested recovery options. Run blameless postmortems and turn recurring problems into structural improvements.
- Technical excellence: Review technical approaches and challenge designs and estimates, relying on technical leadership such as Staff engineers. Uphold shared engineering standards.
- Team culture: Create a safe environment where engineers challenge each other, raise concerns and experiment. Use open feedback as a tool for shared growth.
- AI-assisted engineering: Improve how the team works with AI assistants and coding agents where they deliver demonstrable value. Keep a human accountable. WHAT QUALIFICATIONS DO WE REQUIRE?
