- Portugal Build Your Future With Us The digitization of tax compliance is fundamentally changing global commerce and how businesses need to operate and grow. Governments now have real-time visibility into business data, creating new challenges and new opportunities for organizations around the world. At Sovos, we're transforming tax compliance from a business requirement into a driver of growth through AI-powered technology that delivers the accurate, real-time insights businesses need to make smarter decisions. We're solving more than today's tax compliance challenges. We're helping reshape global economies by enabling organizations to navigate increasingly complex and rapidly changing regulatory environments with confidence – and helping communities thrive. AI is accelerating what's possible, enabling tax and technology professionals to more effectively drive critical regulatory decisions. That's where Sovos excels, combining intelligent technology with human expertise to help customers stay ahead of change. Don't worry if you don't check every box. We're focused on hiring great people, not perfect resumes. It's less about what you've done elsewhere and more about what you're capable of doing here. The Role At Sovos, we're building the platform that every product in our portfolio depends on. As Platform Product Manager, you'll own the roadmap for Platform Core, the shared identity, administration, and provisioning services that enable our customers to authenticate, manage users, and operate seamlessly across the platform. You'll define what gets built and when, drive adoption across product teams, and ensure we build critical capabilities once and build them brilliantly. More Specifically, You Will
- Own the Platform Core roadmap in close partnership with platform engineering, defining what gets built, in what order, and why, grounded in the needs of the product teams and customers who depend on it.
- Identify and prioritise shared services investments by pattern-matching across product team needs, ensuring platform capabilities are built once and built well, not replicated across products. Leverage AI tools to surface patterns and accelerate discovery.
- Drive adoption of critical platform services (Platform Login, Sovos Admin, and future shared capabilities) by partnering directly with product teams to understand integration needs and remove friction that slows adoption.
- Define success metrics for platform adoption (service adoption rates, integration coverage, reliability) and track them with the same rigour as customer-facing product KPIs.
- Lead discovery with platform engineering, product teams, and customers to surface where the current platform creates friction (onboarding, access management, SSO configuration, provisioning) and translate findings into platform requirements.
- Write clear PRDs and requirements that the platform engineering team can build against; maintain a groomed backlog that reflects current priorities and evidence.
- Communicate platform strategy and roadmap to product leadership, engineering, and cross-functional partners with clarity and confidence. What You Bring to Sovos
- You have 5–10 years of product management experience, including meaningful experience with platform, shared services, or infrastructure products in a B2B SaaS environment, with demonstrated ability to manage a platform roadmap that serves multiple internal teams as customers.
- You're technically fluent and comfortable discussing identity and access management concepts (SSO, SAML, OIDC, SCIM, role-based access control), API contracts, and integration architecture with engineering teams.
- You have a track record of driving adoption of platform capabilities, not just shipping them, including working directly with consuming teams to reduce integration friction.
- You possess strong discovery instincts and can identify where the platform creates friction for internal teams or customers, frame the root cause clearly, and prioritise accordingly. Comfort with AI-assisted workflows is a plus.
- You build trust with engineering, product, and go-to-market partners and move work forward without formal authority through excellent cross-functional collaboration skills.
- You communicate with outcome-oriented clarity, explaining complex platform decisions to product managers, sceptics, or senior leadership with equal effectiveness.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Due to client contractual obligations, the successful candidate will be asked to clear a background check upon hire. The Process 1.
