Commercial Analytics Senior Associate
What you will do
The Commercial Analytics team at Amgen plays a pivotal role as a strategic partner to Commercial leadership, offering data-backed insights crucial for driving commercial success. As a Commercial Analytics Senior Associate, you will assist in insights generation by integrating multitude of secondary data sources and engaging several Commercial Data and Analytics (CD&A) colleagues to develop an understanding of Rare Disease brand performance and provide tactical recommendations to drive it.
Responsibilities will include:
1. Perform comprehensive data analysis using SQL, VBA, and Python to extract, clean, and manipulate data.
2. Participate in the design and execution of secondary data analytics to support strategic decision-making by helping implement solutions, tracking progress, and coordinating results readout.
3. Develop and maintain management reports and dashboards to provide clear and concise information to sales and marketing leaders, utilizing visualization tools to present data in an easily understandable format for various collaborators.
4. Collaborate cross-functionally to help synthesize findings, develop recommendations, and articulate actionable insights to stakeholders.
5. Support senior leadership and brand teams through data analytics and performance management.
6. Provide analysis using complex data sources including HCP and Account-level Demand data, Claims data, Electronic Medical Records data, Specialty Pharmacy data, etc. to generate a holistic, objective, and detailed understanding of the brand.
7. Contribute to the enhancement of the CD&A team's capabilities by researching and implementing new analytical tools, methodologies, and data sources.
8. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, finance, and IT, to ensure alignment and support for business initiatives, while providing analytical support for strategic decision-making processes and business planning activities.
9. Collaborate with the broader CD&A organization to integrate comprehensive insights and analytics.
What we expect of you
Our ideal candidate is a team player with customer focus. He/she is problem solving and result oriented and has time and process management skills and can compile data.
Proven experience and skills needed:
1. Minimum 3 years of experience in Pharma/Biotech sales & marketing operations, finance and/or analytics and reporting experience.
2. OR Master's degree and 3 years of sales & marketing operations, finance and/or analytics experience.
3. OR Bachelor's degree and 5 years of sales & marketing operations, finance and/or analytics experience.
4. University Degree in commerce, finance, economics, mathematics, healthcare or related field.
5. Fluency in English, both in written and oral communication.
6. Strong Excel and PowerPoint knowledge.
Preferred Requirements:
1. Proficiency in programming languages, including SQL, VBA, and Python.
2. Familiarity with technologies and applications, and hands-on experience to analyze, synthesize, and integrate various secondary data.
3. Knowledge in data, analytics, research, and/or dashboarding & reporting approach.
4. Capable to identify & define business problem, and address through data, analytics, and research.
5. Proficient analysis and project management skills to turn unstructured business issues into action plans that result in meaningful strategic or tactical recommendations.
6. Ability to drive implementation to enhance methodologies and standard processes.
7. Strong oral and written presentation skills, with ability to explain complex concepts verbally or visually via PowerPoint.
8. Consistently engage and collaborate effectively with cross-functional team to shape brand strategy and understand risks and opportunities.
9. Experience with neuroimmunology products or rare disease market analytics.
10. Familiarity with pharmaceutical sales and marketing processes.
11. Demonstrates a service-minded attitude.
