About the Role
The Siemens Energy Enterprise Data & Advanced Analytics organization creates and enables Data and AI-driven solutions and the corresponding governance and platform to grow and optimize the Siemens Energy businesses and operations.

The Data Strategy & Innovation tower is responsible for developing and delivering the enterprise data and AI strategy to align with business priorities and outcomes, while pushing R&D efforts to advance leading edge analytics capabilities.
As the principal data engineer for our Enterprise Data & Advanced Analytics organization, you have the opportunity to reengineer how we provision and make data safe, reliable, and accessible to all of Siemens Energy.
How You'll Make an Impact / Responsibilities
1. Drive technical delivery and be accountable for overall data engineering strategy, data orchestration architecture, and our data operations execution framework.
2. Define the target data architecture for Siemens Energy's data estate, considering the construct of the business areas, data domains, data products, and the anticipated integration and provisioning for multi-purpose consumption patterns.
3. Act as a product owner of our data platform and technology services to define the platform requirements and roadmap.
4. Define the target operating model of a modern data and AI factory, and create the framework to monitor and manage the performance and quality of integration pipelines.
5. Define standards and design patterns to optimize data sharing without sacrificing flexibility.
6. Provide good foundational frame for cost management and control for our data and platform operations.
7. Collaborate with data owners and data delivery teams to design and execute key initiatives.
8. Work with enterprise architects and our IT and software engineering organizations to define data integration requirements.
9. Advocate modern ways of software development and being an ambassador for scrum and SAFe frameworks.
10. Keep up to date of latest developments in data science and data engineering.
11. Document and present methodologies, procedures, and project results to stakeholders and data professionals across different functions.
What You Bring / skills, capabilities
1. Extensive experience in the field of Data & Analytics and Data Architecture and at least 5+ years of experience as a team lead.
2. Excellent understanding and working knowledge of data ingestion, data modelling & analytics with broad and in-depth expertise in database and data warehouse modeling.
3. 10+ years experience in developing streaming and batch data pipelines for both cloud and hybrid infrastructures.
4. Hands-on experience with modern software development tools.
5. Extensive data analysis experience and the ability to slice & dice data as needed.
6. Experience with cloud providers in data architecture (AWS, Azure).
7. Good to have: Experience in data mesh implementation.
8. You have a strong customer focus and excellent communication skills.
9. You are open-minded, love to learn and constantly improve own skills.
10. You have excellent writing and communication skills in English; knowledge of German or any other language is a plus.
