AWS Senior Cloud Engineer Cloud Centre of Excellence | Insurance Sector Location:Lisbon, Portugal (Hybrid – 3 days onsite) Seniority:Senior Experience:5+ Years Role Summary We are seeking an experiencedAWS Senior Cloud Engineerto work closely with theCloud Centre of Excellence (CCoE)in defining, implementing, and enforcingbest-in-class cloud operational practicesacross enterprise AWS environments. This role plays a critical part in supportingnew cloud initiatives, providingarchitectural guidance, delivering solutions usingInfrastructure as Code (IaC), and leadingincident resolutionin fast-paced, high-availability environments within theInsurance domain. Key Responsibilities Partner with theCloud Centre of Excellence (CCoE)to establish and enforce AWS operational standards and best practices Design and implement secure, scalable cloud architectures aligned with theAWS Well-Architected Framework Deploy and manage cloud infrastructure usingTerraformandAWS CloudFormation Build, maintain, and optimizeCI/CD pipelinesfor automated cloud deployments Leadincident management, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysisfor critical AWS services Ensure compliance withenterprise security, governance, and regulatory standards Optimize cloud environments forperformance, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency Act as a senior technical escalation point duringhigh-pressure production incidents Required Technical Skills Deep hands-on expertise acrossAWS services(EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, etc.) Strong proficiency inTerraformand Infrastructure as Code (IaC) best practices Hands-on experience withCI/CD toolssuch asJenkins, GitHub Actions, and AWS CodePipeline Solid experience withmonitoring, observability, logging, and performance tuningin AWS Excellentproblem-solving, leadership, and decision-makingskills in production environments Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional AWS Certified SysOps Administrator Terraform certification Experience working inregulated industries(Insurance, Banking, Financial Services) Qualifications & Experience 5+ yearsof professional experience incloud engineeringor related roles Proven senior-level experience designing, deploying, and operatingenterprise AWS solutions Strong ability to collaborate witharchitecture, security, and operations teams
