The Sines project is a hyperscale data centre development with complex groundworks, structural, and MEP interfaces. Role Purpose The Temporary Works Manager (TWM) will have overall responsibility for theplanning, design coordination, approval, implementation, inspection, and removal of all temporary workson a large-scale data centre project. The role is critical in ensuring temporary works are safe, compliant, coordinated, and fully integrated with the permanent works and construction programme. Key Responsibilities: Temporary Works Management Act as theTemporary Works Managerin accordance with company procedures and relevant European standards Develop, implement, and maintain theTemporary Works Register Ensure all temporary works are correctly categorised, designed, checked, approved, installed, inspected, modified, and dismantled Issue and manageTemporary Works Permitsand formal handovers Design & Technical Coordination Coordinate with permanent works designers, temporary works designers, and subcontractors Review and approve temporary works designs, calculations, and methodologies Ensure compatibility between temporary and permanent works, particularly around structural frames, foundations, slabs, and MEP installations Site & Construction Interface Support construction teams during planning and execution of complex temporary works Monitor on-site installation to ensure works are built in accordance with approved designs and method statements Carry out regular inspections and audits of temporary works Health, Safety & Compliance Ensure full compliance withEU regulations, Portuguese legislation, and project-specific HSEQ standards Lead risk assessments and method statement reviews related to temporary works Stop works where temporary works present safety or compliance risks Reporting & Stakeholder Management Report temporary works status, risks, and constraints to the Project Director and Senior Management Liaise with client representatives, designers, and third-party reviewers as required Contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives Typical Temporary Works Scope (Data Centre Environment) Excavation support systems and earthworks retention Formwork and falsework systems Temporary propping and structural support Crane bases, lifting platforms, and heavy-lift temporary works Temporary access platforms, walkways, and edge protection Temporary works associated with MEP plant installation and commissioning Required Qualifications & Experience: Proven experience as aTemporary Works Manageron large-scale construction projects Strong background inheavy civil, structural, or data centre construction Engineering qualification (Civil or Structural Engineering preferred) Thorough knowledge of temporary works processes, design coordination, and site implementation Experience working for amain contractoron complex, fast-track projects High level of competency in HSEQ management related to temporary works Personal Attributes: Strong leadership and decision-making capability Excellent technical and problem-solving skills Ability to work under pressure in a high-risk, high-value environment Clear communicator with strong stakeholder management skills Methodical, detail-oriented, and safety-focused Why Join?
