Front-end Developer

Hi there We're Phira Ventures — a Lisbon- and New York–based venture studio partnering with exceptional talent to build companies that deliver real impact. Right now, we're hiring a Front-end Developer to help scale our e-commerce portfolio companies in the health & wellness industry. The Challenge You will take ownership of our Shopify storefront and customer-facing experiences, ensuring a fast, reliable, conversion-focused journey across devices. You'll work directly with the founders and a small, high-output team to ship improvements weekly. Deep Shopify experience is a plus, but not required.What matters most is that you're an exceptional developer with high learning velocity, a proven track record, and an excellent attention to detail. If you learn fast, work hard, and take ownership, you'll get meaningful responsibility from day one and a steep growth curve across multiple portfolio brands. Heads-up:This role is not for everyone. Tasks Develop & Optimize Shopify: Customize and maintain our Shopify store using Liquid, ensuring top-tier performance, speed, and responsiveness. A/B Testing & Tracking: Build and implement A/B tests to optimize user experience and conversion rates. Continuously refine user, marketing tracking and broader analytics for better insights. Tailor User Experiences: Develop innovative, visually engaging front-end solutions that align with our brand and enhance the customer journey. Collaborate Across Teams: Work with marketing, design, and product teams to bring ideas to life, from campaign launches to new feature rollouts. Problem Solving: Troubleshoot issues, debug, and optimize across devices and browsers to ensure a flawless experience. Leverage Figma: Work closely with our designer using Figma Developer Mode to ensure pixel-perfect implementation of designs. RequirementsYou will thrive here if you… Have a proven track record of excellence (work, sports, academic, side projects - anything that shows your bar) Are a strong developer with excellent fundamentals, and you ship reliably. Have a fantastic attention to detail & design sense: a sharp eye for detail paired with a solid understanding of design principles to ensure pixel-perfect, user-friendly outputs. Have an experimentation and analytics mindset: you can implement and validate tracking (GA4, GTM, pixels) and understand how to run structured A/B tests to improve conversion. Are a problem solver: you stay resourceful under pressure and focus on solutions. Are collaborative and versatile: open to feedback and comfortable working cross-functionally. Are curious, low-ego, and eager to grow into technical leadership. Communicate crisply in English (Portuguese not required). Are based in Lisbon, Portugal (hybrid: 4 days on-site). Nice to have Shopify Plus experience, especially checkout extensibility or Shopify Functions. Strong theme architecture experience (sections, snippets, metafields, reusable components) Experience with performance work: Core Web Vitals, Lighthouse, image and script optimization Integration experience with common e commerce tools (Klaviyo, reviews, subscriptions, upsells, 3PL, returns) Previous exposure to startups or venture-backed environments.
