We are Near.U. We strive to develop our solutions by following the best practices of our craft. That means designing scalable, secure and maintainable systems, so our customers can iterate fast and stay ahead. We are looking to grow our team with a Senior Solution Architect to join a long-term international project in the retail and indirect sales space.
You will be responsible for a group of applications that support B2B2C retail and indirect sales. You’ll make sure the solutions stay consistent, well integrated and able to evolve with business needs and security requirements. You’ll work closely with product teams and vendors, keep technical debt under control and ensure high data quality across the landscape.

Please note: This is a long-term assignment of 1–2 years, with a start as soon as possible (a one-month notice period is acceptable). The position is open to candidates based in Portugal; candidates in Poland may also be considered.

Responsibilities
- Define and drive the architectural vision in line with business priorities
- Guide projects and backlog priorities to reduce architectural and data debt
- Design scalable, high-performing and secure solutions that comply with established standards
- Support product and delivery teams with architectural decisions and technical feasibility assessments
- Define non-functional requirements and drive performance improvements
- Optimize costs and resources, and contribute to budget monitoring
- Ensure data quality, availability and confidentiality
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or similar
- Proven experience as a Solution Architect in enterprise IT environments
- Strong AWS expertise; knowledge of Azure and SIGA
- Experience integrating multiple software products and SaaS solutions into enterprise landscapes
- Knowledge of retail applications, including point-of-sale (POS), finance, security and regulatory compliance
- Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, SAFe and ITIL
- Able to work independently, proactive and solution-oriented
- Assertive, with the ability to challenge assumptions, drive architectural decisions and handle disagreements with business stakeholders
- Strong communication skills and fluent English; Russian is a plus
