☁️ AWS Senior Cloud Engineer Cloud Centre of Excellence | Insurance Sector Location: Lisbon, Portugal (Hybrid – 3 days onsite ) Seniority: Senior ⏳ Experience: 5+ Years Role Summary We are seeking an experienced AWS Senior Cloud Engineer to work closely with the Cloud Centre of Excellence (CCoE) in defining, implementing, and enforcing best-in-class cloud operational practices across enterprise AWS environments. This role plays a critical part in supporting new cloud initiatives , providing architectural guidance , delivering solutions using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) , and leading incident resolution in fast-paced, high-availability environments within the Insurance domain . Key Responsibilities Partner with the Cloud Centre of Excellence (CCoE) to establish and enforce AWS operational standards and best practices Design and implement secure, scalable cloud architectures aligned with the AWS Well-Architected Framework Deploy and manage cloud infrastructure using Terraform and AWS CloudFormation Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines for automated cloud deployments Lead incident management, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis for critical AWS services Ensure compliance with enterprise security, governance, and regulatory standards Optimize cloud environments for performance, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency Act as a senior technical escalation point during high-pressure production incidents ✅ Required Technical Skills Deep hands-on expertise across AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, etc.) Strong proficiency in Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) best practices Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and AWS CodePipeline Solid experience with monitoring, observability, logging, and performance tuning in AWS Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and decision-making skills in production environments ⭐ Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional AWS Certified SysOps Administrator Terraform certification Experience working in regulated industries (Insurance, Banking, Financial Services) Qualifications & Experience 5+ years of professional experience in cloud engineering or related roles Proven senior-level experience designing, deploying, and operating enterprise AWS solutions Strong ability to collaborate with architecture, security, and operations teams
