Hiire is helping Blip, a leading tech company focused on software engineering solutions for sports entertainment, hire a Senior Backend Engineer for their team to guide and support the department. As part of Flutter Entertainment, they play an essential role in the Group's goal of becoming the global leader in online sports betting and iGaming, developing innovative products and platforms for over 14 million monthly customers worldwide.
The role: Their Developers know their stuff – they're busy working independently and setting high standards. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you are part of an agile Software Development Team, responsible for the full lifecycle of an application using cutting-edge technologies to deliver amazing value to their customers, while scaling their platform to meet the demands of worldwide markets.
Key Responsibilities
Developing flowcharts, layouts, and documentation to support the Product Owner with requirements and the team with solutions; Developing unit, component, and integrated tests with the guidance of the team's QA - you can expect to execute the full software development lifecycle; Programming well-designed, testable, efficient code to solve business needs and deploy applications in a Continuous Integration platform; Testing and documenting the implemented solutions will be a big part of your day-to-day; Mentoring other developers, peer programming, and guiding them on the tasks; Availability for on-call responsibilities. What You'll Bring: At least 5 years of professional experience with Java; Previous team management experience; Experience with some or all of the following technologies: Scala; Kafka; Akka; Memcached; Apache Storm; Apache Cassandra; Zookeeper; RabbitMQ. Strong understanding of client–server protocols such as SOAP and REST; Experience with design patterns, and encourage the use of reusability techniques; Excellent communication skills in English and Portuguese; Ability to guide junior team members and foster knowledge sharing; Collaboration and adaptability within multidisciplinary teams.
