Principal Clinical Scientist (AI Training)

About The Role

What if your career-long expertise in clinical trial design and regulatory science could directly shape how AI reasons about medical evidence for millions of patients worldwide?

We're looking for a Principal Clinical Scientist to bring senior-level rigor to cutting-edge AI research workflows. In this role, your deep knowledge of regulatory-grade clinical data will help ensure that the AI systems influencing biomedical research are built on a foundation of scientific integrity — the kind that holds up to real-world scrutiny.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role designed for experienced clinical scientists who want meaningful, high-impact work on their own schedule.

- Organization: Alignerr

- Type: Hourly Contract

- Location: Remote

- Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

- Design and critically review clinical trial protocols used to generate high-quality, regulator-ready datasets for AI training

- Interpret and audit clinical trial results to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with regulatory standards

- Evaluate AI-generated clinical analyses for scientific soundness and regulatory relevance

- Provide expert feedback that directly improves how AI models reason about clinical trial data, endpoints, and outcomes

- Help establish the scientific credibility of AI outputs in clinical and biomedical contexts

Who You Are

- Senior-level professional with hands-on experience designing clinical trial protocols for regulatory submission

- Deep expertise interpreting clinical data for agencies such as the FDA, EMA, or equivalent global bodies

- Strong background in clinical research methodology, biostatistics, or translational science

- Naturally rigorous — you hold AI-generated content to the same standards you'd apply in a real submission

- Self-directed and comfortable delivering high-quality work independently

Nice to Have

- Prior experience with data annotation, data quality evaluation, or AI training workflows

- Familiarity with AI tools or clinical NLP systems as an end user

- Experience spanning multiple therapeutic areas or regulatory jurisdictions

- Background in academic clinical research, CRO environments, or regulatory consulting

Why Join Us

- Work directly on frontier AI systems that are reshaping clinical and biomedical research

- Fully remote and flexible — work when and where it suits you

- Freelance autonomy with the structure of meaningful, expert-level work

- Influence how AI understands, evaluates, and communicates real-world clinical evidence at scale

- Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch
