Role Overview The Operations team provides functional support and monitoring for market and counterparty risk systems. In Portugal, the focus is on the quality aspects of the data feeding those platforms, including the creation and governance of meaningful KPIs, investigation of incidents, streamlining of workflows, and executive-level reporting for governance committees. The Business Analyst in this role will act as the bridge between Risk, Business, and IT, ensuring alignment with internal standards and regulatory expectations. Key Responsibilities Data Quality & KPI Governance Design, implement, and maintain Key Performance Indicators to monitor data quality (timeliness, accuracy of daily risk indicators); Track trends, identify anomalies detection, and ensure alignment with internal standards; Perform statistical analyses using Excel analytics and Power BI dashboards; Translate technical data into clear narratives for leadership reviews. Committee Support & Stakeholder Reporting Prepare materials and participate actively in monthly governance committees to present KPI analyses, insights, and recommendations; Translate technical concepts into business-friendly language for senior management; Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Incident Management & Remediation Extract, analyze, and report on system incidents; Conduct statistical deep dives to identify inefficiencies or recurring issues; Collaborate with subject-matter experts to diagnose root cause analysis; Produce synthesis reports and follow-up action plans within SLA. Process Improvement & Innovation Critically assess existing workflows to identify bottlenecks; Industrialize processes and automate repetitive tasks; Provide daily user support for ad-hoc SQL queries and data applications; Champion incremental changes aligned with policies. Technical Skills – MUST HAVE Good understanding of Market Risk Monitoring and Reporting; Solid IT background with Python mainly; Good knowledge of stress testing techniques; Strong SQL advanced skills (CRUD, procedures, tuning); Expertise in Excel and/or Power BI dashboards; Experience in Agile Scrum environments; English B2+ minimum; Portuguese fluency. Nice to Have SAS notions, Databricks ELK ELK, API lifecycle Jenkins Git; Prior exposure to insurance or financial sectors; Containers architecture.
