Applications are open for 1 Research Studentship, within the framework of R&D institution IN+ Center for Innovation, Technology and Policy Research UIDB/50009/ , financed by national funds through FCT Workplan:
To contribute to the development of the energy modeling of buildings necessary for the evaluation of internal overheating in the Portuguese building stock. The work will focus on the definition and implementation of representative archetypes of residential buildings, including building geometry, construction characteristics, properties of the envelope, internal gains and patterns of occupation and use of the building. Support the preparation, verification and execution of the energy models and the analysis of the data resulting from the simulations. The developed models will later be used to investigate the thermal response of representative buildings under conditions of hot weather and heat waves. A set of building improvement measures — such as external shading, natural ventilation and improvements in the envelope — can also be investigated to quantify their potential to reduce overheating. The research fellowship(s) will have the duration of 6 months. It’s expected to begin in November 2026 and may be eventually renewed up to the maximum of 12 months, including the duration of the initial contract It is mandatory to formalize applications with the submission of the following documents: i) B1 Form – Fellowship application ( ); ii) Curriculum Vitae; iii) academic degree certificate, where applicable; iv) proof of enrollment at an academic degree course (Master, Integrated Master); v) motivation letter.
