Head of Engineering (m/f) – Lisbon Our client is a leading company in its sector. We are providing full support for its implementation in Portugal and are currently looking for a Head of Engineering for its office in Lisbon. Role Overview The Head of Engineering is responsible for leading, scaling, and continuously improving the engineering function. This role combines technical leadership, people management, and strategic execution, ensuring that engineering teams deliver high-quality, scalable, and secure solutions aligned with business objectives. Responsibilities Define and execute the engineering strategy aligned with the company’s vision and growth plans. Lead, mentor, and grow high-performing engineering teams (backend, frontend, mobile, DevOps, QA, etc.). Oversee recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and career development. Establish and maintain engineering processes, standards, and best practices (Agile, CI/CD, code reviews, testing). Identify and mitigate technical risks and dependencies. Drive technical decisions related to platforms, frameworks, tooling, and infrastructure. Requirements: Proven experience in a senior engineering leadership role (Head of Engineering, Engineering Manager, or similar). Strong technical background with hands-on experience in modern software development. Experience leading and scaling engineering teams in fast-paced environments. Solid understanding of software architecture, cloud infrastructure, and modern development practices. Demonstrated ability to balance technical depth with people leadership. Experience working closely with Product and business stakeholders. Strong communication, leadership, and decision-making skills. Offer: A strategic leadership role with real impact on company growth.
