A Call for one Research fellowship (Bolsa de Investigação) is open at Fundação D. Anna de Sommer Champalimaud e Dr. Carlos Montez Champalimaud (Champalimaud Foundation) in the context of the project entitled “Circadian regulation of pulmonary immunity by neuroendocrine signals”, with reference “PTDC/MED-IMU/2189/2021”, from the Call Nº PTDC 2021, funded by the FCT, through Portuguese National Funds.
Scientific description and work plan Explore the functional impact of pulmonary circadian neuro/endocrine circuits in ILC2 responses in health and disease. To achieve this the selected candidate will work with genetically modified mouse models and will provide technical assistance with the characteriSation and purification of immune and stroma cell populations, using flow cytometry and transcriptomic analysis, both in steady state and in the context of pulmonary disease models. The selected candidate will work in close collaboration with an experienced Postdoc and under the supervision of the project´s Principal Investigator.
Number and type of fellowships to be awarded
Required Education Level Research Field Biological sciences, Biochemistry
Skills/Qualifications
Master in Biochemistry
Expertise in flow cytometry, cellular and molecular biology, cell transplantation and confocal microscopy analysis
Experience with genetically modified mouse models
Expertise in Cirdadian regulation
Desirable skills that will also be considered
Fluency in English
Experience with programming (knowledge of r language)
Experience with Cosinor and MetaCycle analysis
Full immersion into a research excellence ecosystem with highly motivated researchers, supported by state-of-the-art technology and continuous development opportunities.
Remuneration 1.064 Euros as determined by FCT, I.P. Scientific Fellowships regulations for Portugal ( ) and the Fellowship Regulations of the Champalimaud Foundation.
