THE ROLEWe are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Mobile to lead our Mobile Development function at PluggableAI. As Head of Mobile, you will be responsible for the vision, strategy, and execution of our mobile apps and SDKs across native (iOS/Android) and cross-platform frameworks. You will build, mentor, and scale a high-performing mobile engineering team while ensuring technical excellence and alignment with business objectives. This is a leadership role that combines hands-on technical expertise with strategic thinking. Our technology is unique, so is our mindset. We need someone who can establish best practices, drive architectural decisions, and create a culture of innovation and accountability within the mobile team. What You'll DoStrategic Leadership Define and execute the mobile development roadmap in alignment with company goals. Establish technical vision and architecture standards for mobile apps and SDKs (native and hybrid). Make critical technical decisions on frameworks, tools, and technologies. Partner with other departments to shape mobile strategy. Identify opportunities for innovation and competitive differentiation in mobile. Technical Execution & Quality Oversee the design, development, and delivery of mobile APIs and SDKs for iOS, Android, and hybrid frameworks (Cordova, Flutter, React Native). Ensure mobile solutions are robust, scalable, performant, and secure. Drive implementation of best practices in mobile development, testing, and deployment. Review and approve critical architectural and technical decisions. Maintain high quality standards through effective review processes. Ensure comprehensive technical documentation and knowledge sharing. Innovation & Excellence Stay current with mobile development trends, emerging technologies, and industry standards Evaluate and introduce new tools, frameworks, and methodologies Champion accessibility, security, and performance standards Foster experimentation and innovation within the team What We're Looking For 5+ years of mobile software engineering experience (iOS and/or Android) Deep expertise in native mobile development (Swift/Kotlin) Strong experience with cross-platform frameworks (mainly Flutter, but also React Native and Cordova) Proven track record of shipping successful mobile applications and SDKs at scale Experience building and maintaining mobile APIs and developer SDKs Expert-level knowledge of mobile architecture patterns and best practices Strong understanding of mobile UI/UX principles and performance optimization Proficiency in CI/CD, testing frameworks, and mobile DevOps Deep knowledge of mobile security, accessibility standards, and compliance requirements Experience with API design and backend integration Strong strategic thinking and decision-making capabilities Knowledge of wearable device technology stack is a plus What We Offer Full-time employment contract Additional day off (your birthday) Competitive compensation package Health Insurance 1 remote day per week Possibility of equity compensation according to performance, skills, and trust Opportunity to lead mobile innovation at a cutting-edge AI company Dynamic work environment with an ambitious and talented team Work on unique technology that makes a real impact Office located in Braga, Portugal Ready to lead mobile innovation in emotion AI?
