Practice Area – Market Risk & Risk IT (Corporate & Investment Banking) European Corporate and Investment Banking continues to evolve under increasing regulatory pressure, complex financial products, and rapid technological change. Market Risk and Risk IT functions play a central role in ensuring financial stability, robust risk frameworks, and effective front-to-back risk management. TNP’s Market Risk teams support leading global banks on: Market Risk modelling and analytics Risk IT and quantitative development Data, reporting and business intelligence Regulatory-driven transformations (Basel III / FRTB) Harmonisation and stability of risk and IT environments Your role As a Consultant or Senior Consultant in Market Risk, you will join high-impact client teams delivering quantitative, data-driven and technology-enabled risk solutions for major international banks. Depending on your background, you will contribute to and lead assignments covering: Risk IT & Quantitative Development Design, development and enhancement of market risk tools and analytics using Python Support to risk engines, calculation chains and data pipelines Close interaction with Front Office, Risk, IT and Quant teams Market Risk Analytics & Business Intelligence Market risk analysis on bond and fixed-income portfolios Development of dashboards, KPIs and reporting for senior management Data intelligence and risk transparency initiatives Global Transformation Projects Participation in international projects across Europe (Paris, Madrid, Lisbon) Fast integration into existing client teams with strong delivery expectations Contribution to harmonisation and stabilisation of risk and IT environments At Senior Consultant level, you will also: Take ownership of workstreams and junior team members Contribute to proposal writing and business development Act as a subject-matter reference within Market Risk and Risk IT Where you’ll be based Lisbon or Porto International consulting environment with regular interaction with global teams Occasional travel to client locations across Europe What you bring Experience & background 5 to 10 years of experience in Market Risk, Risk IT, quantitative development or consulting within global investment banks Strong exposure to market risk in CIB environments, particularly fixed income / bond portfolios Proven ability to integrate quickly into complex, existing delivery teams Technical & analytical skills Strong Python skills for quantitative development, analytics or data processing Experience with market risk models and metrics (VaR, sensitivities, stress testing, scenarios) Solid understanding of market risk data, reporting and business intelligence Familiarity with risk systems and environments (e.g. Murex or equivalent) is a plus Regulatory & functional knowledge Good understanding of market risk regulatory frameworks (Basel III, FRTB) Exposure to regulatory-driven change projects and model governance is valued Delivery & consulting skills Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving capabilities Ability to interact with risk managers, quants, IT and business stakeholders Clear communication skills, both written and verbal Autonomous, structured and delivery-oriented Languages Fluent English (mandatory) Portuguese is an advantage French or Spanish is a plus What we offer Integration into a fast-growing international consulting firm in Portugal High-value projects with tier-one global banking clients A collaborative and entrepreneurial working environment Continuous learning, certification and personal development opportunities Competitive compensation package, including mobility and performance-based bonuses Additional information TNP Consultants is an equal opportunity employer.
