Do you want to shape the future for green energy?Power Solutions & Vestas Quality > Aerodynamic & Mechanical > Lubrication & MBAThe Powertrain Module in Vestas Power Solutions is responsible for developing the complete Vestas powertrain for both onshore and offshore wind turbines. The module consists of 3 submodules, Lubrication & MBA (Main Bearing Arrangement), Gearbox, and Generator. The Lubrication & MBA submodule is responsible and accountable for the design solutions of (i) the powertrain lubrication system, (ii) the main bearings and (iii) the structural components.This position is for the Lubrication & MBA submodule group and more specifically for the structural design of the Main Bearing Arrangement in Porto.You will contribute to developing an ever-growing and high-paced team in a global environment. For the right candidate this position will be a platform for further professional and leadership development in a global organization.ResponsibilitiesIdentify - Design - Optimize - ValidateLead and develop system/component design work within project scopeEnsure that the technical scope is fully specified and developed, integrates technically with the value chain, and is within the quality, time, and costs targets of the projectResponsible for system/component level documentationRepresent system/component towards other systems, component and product levelIdentifying, documenting, communicating, and mitigating technical risks within the project technical scopeCost-Optimize the structure using dedicated tools and following the Vestas development process Way to MarketPlan together with the Project Manager the technical activities following the Vestas stage gate model.Deliver the complete verification and validation documentation of the full MBA including certificationDefine and participate to testing campaignsPropel VA/VE activities to optimize owned components to product cost to required performancesContribute to the Technology Roadmap to assure the submodule growth in line with market developmentMonitor and contribute to improve the fleet performance of the MBA over the value chainQualificationsMaster's degree in Structural or Mechanical EngineeringMin. 3 years of experience from a relevant industryYou have industry experience within design (R&D) of large casting and bearing arrangementGood technical understandingSpecific work experience within the wind industry is beneficial but not requiredEnthusiastic about practical work on tests and verification as well as theoretical knowledgeFluency in EnglishLoad analysis and applicationCalculation of casted structures (analytic and FEA) and support bearingsExtreme and fatigue analysisDesign for Manufacturing and System EngineeringBolted and welded joints, Contact settingsQuality development tools (requirements, DFMEA, verification, validation)Project and Stakeholder managementCapable of identifying and breaking down project scope to concrete deliverables within professional areaTechnical leadership competencesWhat we offerWe offer an exciting job in a creative and international environment.
