Product Cost Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Product Cost Engineer to join our team in Ponte de Lima, Portugal. As a key member of our Cost Engineering Team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of mobility.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Lead and coordinate Target Costing and Target Cost Achievement for assigned projects.
  • Support Sales with Cost Disclosure and Cost Breakdowns for ZF customers.
  • Proactively drive Design-to-Cost, Cost-Down Initiatives, and commercial evaluation of technical concepts/designs.
  • Provide Cost transparency on Product level, monitoring, reporting, and forecasting for Design-to-Cost/Target Cost Achievements.
  • Support Benchmarking and tear down workshops with commercial evaluations.
  • Create, check, and provide Product (and component) Cost calculations on Best Practice level.
  • Act as the first contact person for consulting support and interface/sparring partner for internal stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Manufacturing/Engineering/MBA/Business Engineering/Industrial Engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience in similar roles.
  • Distinct cost awareness and good knowledge of various manufacturing processes and components.
  • Project Management experience with a holistic process understanding and a structured way of working.
  • Strong communication skills, flexibility, self-motivation, and ability to work collaboratively with others.
  • Fluent in Portuguese and English. Additional languages preferred.
