We are seeking an exceptional leader to join our team as the Head of Humanities at PaRK International School in Lisbon. As a key member of our faculty, you will be responsible for leading and managing the Humanities department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning standards across all levels.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and manage the Humanities department, overseeing subjects such as Geography, History, Global Perspectives, and Psychology
- Inspire and motivate staff and students, fostering a positive and engaging learning environment
- Develop and implement a rich and diverse curriculum for the Humanities subjects, ensuring alignment with GCSE, A-Level, and IBDP standards
- Monitor and track student progress, providing timely intervention when necessary
- Contribute to school improvement planning, setting departmental priorities that align with the school's overall development goals
The ideal candidate will have a degree in one of the Humanities subjects or a closely related field, with a teaching qualification preferred. You should have proven experience in leading or managing a department or team, demonstrating strong leadership skills to inspire and develop both staff and students.
A comprehensive knowledge of the GCSE, A-Level, and/or IBDP curricula is essential, along with the ability to teach at least one of these subjects at A-Level or IBDP level. Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trust and positive relationships with students, staff, and parents are also required.
