About the Role

Blip, a leading tech company specializing in software engineering solutions for sports entertainment, is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join their team. The successful candidate will lead and inspire a multi-disciplinary software development team, comprising up to 6 developers and 1 QA, to deliver high-quality results within a collaborative culture.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead the growth and career development of your team, providing regular performance appraisals and guidance.
  2. Oversee the hiring process to ensure the successful delivery of your team.
  3. Act as a liaison between the delivery team and key stakeholders (internal or external), facilitating effective communication and collaboration.
  4. Collaborate with peers to align on initiatives, priorities, and proactively identify risks and dependencies across all project phases.
  5. Support product owners and other change drivers throughout the product lifecycle.
Qualifications – Must Have:
  1. A technical background with a proven track record of leading and managing multi-disciplinary teams delivering complex software projects;
  2. Excellent stakeholder management skills to engage, communicate, negotiate, and work towards compromise and success during our product lifecycle;
  3. Experience leading people and supporting their career development plans;
  4. Demonstrated expertise in fostering and advancing a collaborative team culture;
  5. Strong analytical and diagnostic skills, particularly concerning technical risks, issues, and constraints;
  6. Senior principles, leading by example, showing work ethic and passionate, professional attitude;
  7. Knowledge of distributed, redundant, and transactional systems and the quality assurance of these;
  8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English and Portuguese);
  9. Proven track record of Incident Management;
  10. Experience using defect tracking systems.
