Recruitment Direct is seeking a highly skilled Global Risk Intelligence Analyst to join our team in Lisbon, Portugal. As a key member of our research department, you will be responsible for conducting in-depth research on global events impacting Yoruba-speaking regions and providing actionable insights to aid strategic decision-making.

About the Role

This exciting opportunity involves researching international and geopolitical events, analyzing potential risks, and ensuring the trustworthiness of online platforms. You will synthesize complex information into clear, concise insights, with an emphasis on identifying trends that may affect online safety and platform integrity.

The successful candidate will have the ability to adapt to shifting business needs and support other markets and workflows as required. This includes collaborating with cross-functional teams to align research efforts with evolving business priorities and using a Translation Tool to support content moderation and workflow demands across languages when necessary.

Daily Job Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Research on International and Geopolitical Events: Conduct thorough research on global events impacting Yoruba-speaking regions, focusing on topics relevant to platform safety and integrity.
  2. Data Synthesis and Insight Generation: Transform complex, multi-source information into concise, actionable insights to inform strategic initiatives.
  3. Trend Analysis for Platform Risk: Identify and assess emerging trends that could present risks to the platforms, particularly in relation to inappropriate or explicit content.
  4. Content Moderation: Review and moderate internet content to ensure compliance with platform policies, addressing sensitive or explicit material appropriately.
  5. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain thorough documentation of research methods, findings, and conclusions, generating detailed reports for internal review.

The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree or Ph.D. in a relevant field, such as politics, history, journalism, international relations, digital media, or social research. We offer a competitive salary of €1295 per month, plus free accommodation for the whole 12-month contract (own room in a shared house/apartment) or a gross salary of €1040 per month without accommodation. Candidates must already have work permission for Portugal (EU passport or Portuguese residence card).
