About Our Team
Vestas is a pioneer in the wind energy industry, and our Research & Development department is at the forefront of innovation. We are seeking a skilled Renewable Energy Specialist to join our team and contribute to the design and development of electrical simulation models for our wind turbines and power plant controllers.
As a Renewable Energy Specialist, you will work closely with our Electrical Models department to ensure that our electrical simulation models meet global certification standards. You will engage in engineering activities to optimize the development and validation processes of electrical simulation models.
The successful candidate will have a BSc or MSc degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a related field. You will possess proficiency in Power Systems steady-state analysis, including load flow and short-circuit analysis, as well as time domain and frequency domain modelling, and stability/transient analysis.
Fundamental software and programming skills, including familiarity with languages such as C, C++, Python, and experience with version control systems like Git, are also essential. Additionally, you should have familiarity with at least one power systems simulation tool, such as Simulink, PSS/E, DigSilent PowerFactory, or PSCAD.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with our Electrical Models department to ensure that our electrical simulation models meet global certification standards
- Engage in engineering activities to optimize the development and validation processes of electrical simulation models
- Collaborate with specialists within the team to review and validate engineering designs
- Ensure the utmost performance and quality of electrical simulation models for our wind turbines and plant controllers
