Job Title: Database Administrator

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Database Administrator to join our team at Devexperts LLC. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for the management, monitoring, and optimization of our Oracle and Postgres database systems.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Database Management: Ensure high performance, availability, and security of our database systems.
  • Database Design: Design and implement database structures based on business requirements.
  • Performance Tuning: Identify and resolve performance issues, optimize queries, and monitor database performance.
  • Backup and Recovery: Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to ensure data protection and disaster recovery capabilities.
  • Database Security: Implement and maintain database security measures to safeguard sensitive data.
  • Collaboration: Investigate and resolve database-related issues, provide technical support to users, and collaborate with developers and other IT staff.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive database documentation, including configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Upgrades and Patches: Plan and execute database upgrades and apply patches to ensure the latest features, security enhancements, and bug fixes.

Requirements:

  • Experience: At least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Database Administration: Installation and administration of Oracle Database 19c and Postgres 13 and forward.
  • High Availability: High availability environments (Failover or RAC).
  • Disaster Recovery: Disaster Recovery Environments (Data Guard).
  • Backup and Restore: Backup and restore using RMAN.
  • Database Skills: Hands-on experience with table spaces, indexes, partitions, and query performance tuning.
  • Database Administration: Creation, migration, maintenance, and administration of Oracle and PostgreSQL databases in different environments (Production, Pre-Production).
  • Database Management Tools: Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager, Docker Management, and Liquidbase.
  • Automation: Experience in tasks automation.
  • Advanced Knowledge: Advanced knowledge of information technology necessary for performing work duties (including database skills at the administrator level, having domain of Unix and Windows environments at the user level, networking knowledge).
