SAP SE, a leading provider of enterprise software, is seeking a Technical Innovation Leader to drive innovation in our cloud managed services. As a key member of our Product & Engineering board area, you will design and develop cutting-edge software solutions.

Our team focuses on creating innovative products/services in the SAP BTP Platform, leveraging the latest cloud technology trends, methods, and mindset. We strive to bring the next level of technology innovation to our customers.

The Project

We are building two new cloud managed services to provide PostgreSQL and Redis instances to SAP BTP users. These services aim to deliver seamless experiences for both internal and external clients when needing database or caching services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design software solutions to bring business needs to life.
  • Align architectural strategies with business objectives and provide inputs on technology roadmaps.
  • Work closely with other teams to understand and gather technical requirements.
  • Help lead and mentor the team with technical expertise and a love for coding/technology.
  • Guide building and maintaining complex BTP Cloud Services deployed in cloud environments.
  • Learn new technologies, help the team adopt state-of-the-art technologies, and innovate.
  • Define coding best practices, guidelines, and architecture paradigms for clean code.
  • Explore DevOps using Infrastructure as Code methodologies to increase developer experience.
  • Collaborate with the team to work on and improve agile practices.

Requirements:

  • Deep hands-on expertise in Golang or Java.
  • A love for software development, coding best practices, and learning.
  • Deep containerization and orchestration knowledge (Kubernetes and Docker).
  • Understanding of PostgreSQL and Redis services and their use cases.
  • Cloud development principles (the 12-factors) is beneficial.
  • IaaS experience with at least one Cloud Provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Great confidence working within Unix/Linux shell environments.
  • Deep Git knowledge.
  • Cloud DevOps knowledge is beneficial (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Concourse, Terraform, etc.).
  • Ability to speak and write English fluently is mandatory.
